The problem
The homeowners’ kitchen still had its original cabinets, a counter that was too small to work on and appliances near the end of their life. They wanted more storage and a layout that two people could cook in.
What we did
We agreed on the layout and a written estimate first, then worked in phases so the family could keep using the rest of the house.
Removed the old cabinets and counters, repaired the drywall behind them
Built and installed new cabinets with a larger island
Installed and connected the new range, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator
Painted the walls and ceiling, fitted new trim
- Week 1Demolition and drywall repairs
- Week 2Cabinets and island installed
- Week 3Counters measured and set, appliances installed
- Week 4Paint, trim, final clean and walk-through
The result
The kitchen has twice the counter space it had, every appliance is new and installed to the manufacturer’s instructions, and the work finished in the four weeks of the estimate.
- weeks, as the estimate said
- 4
- the counter space of the old kitchen
- 2×
- new appliances installed
